As
tools of academic progress, laptops and wi-fi connections
will soon replace the jackhammers and cement mixers at
the construction site of Hanson Hall. When this high-tech
facility opens its doors next year, undergraduate access
to the U’s business programs will increase by 50
percent, helping the Carlson School of Management prepare
more of tomorrow’s leaders.
The University sends
more employees into Minnesota’s workplace than
any other school. These talented graduates fuel the economic
vibrancy of our state through productive professional
lives and engaged citizenship.
Corporate partners such
as General Mills understand the U’s primary role
in building a well-trained workforce. “We trust
the U’s leadership and integrity,” says Senior
Vice President Ellen Goldberg Luger. “Our investment
in Hanson Hall is part of a mutually beneficial relationship
with an incredibly strong institution.”
Donors
see the U’s value in other fields, too. Drs. Mark
and Jo Ann Omlie, who earned their degrees in dentistry
at the U, know firsthand the importance of the best possible
training. Their support of the Dental Simulation Clinic – the
newest facility of its kind in the country – gives
students more hands-on experience. “We want dental
students to have an even better education than we had.
This clinic ensures excellence.” Take
