Campaign Minnesota has had significant impact on our students' lives--now and in the future.

Major gifts to Campaign Minnesota

  • $1,655,703,867: The total amount raised during Campaign Minnesota, 1996-2003.

  • 220,000: The total number of donors.

  • 112,891: The number of donors who made first-time gifts to the University during the campaign.

  • 85,600: The number of alumni who made gifts.

  • 11,000: The number of faculty and staff who made gifts, for a total of $67 million.

  • 651: The number of new scholarships created.

  • 418: The number of new fellowships created.

  • 110: The number of new endowed positions created, for a total of 372 today.

  • 338: The number of gifts of $1 million or more.

  • 41 percent: Percentage of all giving designated for endowment, which means that the principal stays intact and a portion is paid out each year for the designated program, ensuring support for these programs far into the future.

  • $2,609: The average gift size.

  • $115 million: The amount given by donors of under $25,000, representing 97 percent of all donors.

  • 840,862: The number of volumes added to University libraries during Campaign Minnesota.

  • 25: The number of facilities built, expanded or renovated, thanks in part to campaign gifts. Two campuses now have designated arts quarters, with the completion of the Weber Music Hall in Duluth, and the Barbara Barker Dance Center and Studio Arts buildings in the Twin Cities.
