Many of the 110 new endowed positions
made it possible to retain top
faculty in highly competitive
fields, and others were used to
recruit renowned scholars to Minnesota.
The number of faculty who are
members of national academies
and receiving national honors
has increased, thanks in part
to new faculty support during
the campaign.
Faculty quality has contributed to
the U’s ranking in 2002 and
2003 among the nation’s top
three public research universities.
More
than 11,000 faculty and staff contributed
$67 million to Campaign Minnesota, further
testament that the people who run the
U are committed to its core mission of
advancing eduation and making the U a
top-notch teaching and research university.
