Who gives to the U, and how much do they
give?
Based on 2007 figures including new gifts,
pledges, and deferred gifts:
- More than 87,167 individuals and corporations
made gifts to the University in fiscal
year 2007.
- Total giving to the U of M was $251 million in fiscal
2007.
- More than 59 percent of donors were
alumni.
- Presidents Club members give 90 percent of the dollar value
of contributions received each year.
- There has been a steady increase in planned gifts to the
Foundation in the past few years.
- Matching gift dollars received from corporations were
$1.4 million.
- A total of 51,073 alumni gave to the U in 2007.
